Summerside has a long history with the sea having been built on the
shipbuilding industry through the 1800’s. At one point Summerside boasted
8 shipyards on its waterfront. Summerside’s yard built hundreds of square
riggers and which sailed and carried on trade worldwide.

During the summer months, over 500 power and sail boats visit our beautiful
marina. Visitors are from all parts of the world. Sailors on Northumberland
Strait can't afford to miss this great stop-over with the best facilities in
Eastern Canada.
